Japanese Simmering Sauce
Simmer anything in this…
150ml white wine
100ml soy sauce
100ml mirin
100ml water
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 chili d’arbro
2cm of ginger sliced finely or grated
2 cloves garlic sliced finely
1 large white onion sliced finely
Add all of the above to a pot and simmer 5 mins. then add other ingredients.
For example:
Thinly sliced filet steak
Watercress
Spinach
or
Pork tenderloin thinly sliced
sliced mushrooms
beansprouts
or
Tofu
shreded nappa cabbage
sliced red pepper
Serve over Japanese short grain rice.
