A little about me

Welcome to my food obsessed but not food exclusive blog!

I grew up surrounded by cooks and in kitchens that worked hard. There are three people who influenced me most as a child and developed my love of cooking. My Great Aunt Kate (a surrogate Grandmother) who lived a few doors down from us, she was a cook in a country house and a master of traditional british cooking. My mother, who was and still is an amazing baker. My father, who would spend hours in the kitchen mastering techniques and creating wonderful weekend meals. He also created one of my favorite kitchens in the world, the kitchen he remodeled at Pyt House, our family home in Dorset – it was the heart of the home and holds so many happy memories.

Where I find inspiration

My love of food and cooking continued to develop as my life evolved, moving between Europe, Asia and the USA which is now our home. I have always tried to make the kitchen a special place in our homes, places to live, work and gather with family and friends.

The concept of the Sunday meal is very important to me, something that was a foundation of my upbringing and nothing makes me happier than creating a Sunday feast, listening to BBC Radio 6 and inviting family and friends to join at the table. True joy!

I hope you find some joy and create some memories through the things I share in this blog.
